Callum Hudson-Odoi, who plays as a winger for Nottingham Forest, has been told by a court to pay over £1,100 after failing to properly tax his luxury car.
The 25-year-old footballer was taken to court by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) because he did not pay the required tax on his McLaren 765LT. Records show he became the official owner of the car in February 2024, but the yearly tax ran out at the end of January 2025.
According to the DVLA, the car was still not taxed nine months later when it was seen on a street in Manchester on the morning of October 29. Cars like the McLaren 765LT can cost more than £400,000.
The DVLA said Hudson-Odoi was first given a chance to settle the issue without going to court, but he did not reply. Because of this, he was later charged with keeping a vehicle without valid tax.
He did not respond to the charge, and the case was handled at York Magistrates’ Court on April 20 through a fast-track process handled privately.
The magistrate ordered him to pay a £660 fine, £410 in unpaid tax, and an extra £85 to cover court costs.
This news comes shortly after it was confirmed that Hudson-Odoi will miss the rest of the season due to surgery on a leg injury. He joined Nottingham Forest from Chelsea in 2023 and has scored six goals in 43 matches this season. He has also played three times for the England national team.
