FfDerby County are going through a tough period because many of their players are injured at the same time. Head coach John Eustace has now given an update on the situation and explained how serious it is for the team.
At the moment, around eight first-team players are not available. This has made it difficult for the coach to choose his best team for matches.
Goalkeeper Josh Vickers is one of the latest players to get injured. He has a groin injury and is expected to be out for about six to eight weeks.
Another goalkeeper, Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, is also not playing because he has been ill.
In defence, Sondre Langås is recovering from a hamstring injury, while Max Johnston is also injured again after having problems earlier in the season. Danny Batth is another defender currently out of action.
In midfield, Liam Thompson is still recovering from a muscle injury. Callum Elder has had a small knee operation and is also not available. Striker Lars-Jørgen Salvesen is also injured and missing games.
Despite all these problems, John Eustace said some players may start coming back after the international break. However, he also said the club will be careful and not rush anyone back too early.
Derby County will now have to manage with a small squad while they wait for injured players to recover. The coach will be hoping the situation improves soon so the team can stay competitive.
