PRAYING FOR TEXAS: A NATION UNITED IN COMPASSION AND COURAGE
Texas is hurting. The skies opened and the floodwaters surged, swallowing homes, dreams, and entire neighborhoods in a matter of hours. Streets became rivers. Playgrounds became lakes. And countless families found themselves stranded—helpless, heartbroken, and holding on to hope.
But even as the Lone Star State weathers one of the worst natural disasters in its recent history, something powerful is happening—something stronger than the storm.
America is rising.
From coast to coast, a tidal wave of love, prayers, and compassion is rushing toward Texas. Firefighters from California. Volunteer rescue crews from Louisiana. Truckloads of food, blankets, diapers, and clean water from churches in Georgia and nonprofits in Illinois. Social media is overflowing with messages of solidarity—#PrayForTexas is trending globally as celebrities, athletes, and everyday citizens pledge support.
In Houston, shelters are opening their doors to families who lost everything. In Dallas, local high schools are transformed into donation hubs, packed wall-to-wall with supplies and smiling volunteers. In small towns like New Braunfels and Temple, strangers are driving through flood zones with boats, rescuing families trapped on rooftops.
And while the images on television screens are heartbreaking—cars floating down highways, children clinging to stuffed animals, elderly residents being carried to safety—the spirit on the ground is fierce and resilient.
One volunteer, soaked and exhausted after pulling three people from a submerged home, said simply: “We’re Texans. We don’t run. We rescue.”
Across the nation, schools are holding fundraisers. Churches are hosting prayer vigils. Sports teams are auctioning jerseys for relief. The Red Cross has already deployed hundreds of personnel.
