He returned to the game as a coach, including a stint under Coach Bryant at Alabama. Later, he served as head coach and athletic director at Northeast Louisiana (now ULM) before taking over as athletic director at Texas A&M, where he remained until 1993.

Crow passed away in 2015, but his legacy remains strong in Aggieland. A towering bronze statue of him stands proudly on the Texas A&M campus, and his story continues to inspire athletes and fans alike.
