MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU Golfers Todd Duncan and Kaleb Wilson Earn PING All-Midwest Region Honors
West Virginia University’s golf program is celebrating a major achievement as standout golfers Todd Duncan and Kaleb Wilson have been named to the prestigious Division I PING All-Midwest Region Team, as announced this weekend by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
This recognition places both athletes among the top collegiate golfers in the Midwest region and reflects their outstanding performance throughout the 2024–2025 season. It is a monumental moment for WVU Golf and a testament to the growth and competitive excellence of the program under head coach Sean Covich.
“It’s an incredible honor for Todd and Kaleb, and it speaks volumes about the work they’ve put in,” said Covich. “They’ve represented this university with class on and off the course. These selections are well-deserved and mark another step forward in what we’re building here in Morgantown.”
A Season of Consistency and Excellence
Todd Duncan, a junior from Daniels, West Virginia, has been a rock-solid force for the Mountaineers all season long. Known for his calm demeanor, precise ball striking, and strong mental game, Duncan led the team in scoring average and finished in the top-10 in several high-level tournaments, including the Mountaineer Invitational and the Big 12 Championship.
His ability to perform under pressure and maintain consistency over 18 grueling holes has made him one of the top collegiate golfers to watch—not just in the region, but nationally. Duncan’s selection marks the second time in his collegiate career he has received All-Region honors.
“I’m really humbled by this recognition,” said Duncan. “It means a lot to represent West Virginia at this level. I’ve worked hard on my game, and to be acknowledged like this is just more motivation to keep improving.”
Kaleb Wilson, a rising sophomore from Pennsylvania, turned heads in only his second season with WVU. Bursting onto the scene with fearless play and a natural feel for the game, Wilson notched impressive finishes at the Border Olympics and Southern Highlands Collegiate. His confidence, combined with powerful shot-making, helped elevate WVU’s overall team performance during crucial stretches of the season.
“I didn’t expect this so early in my college career, but I’m grateful,” said Wilson. “Coach Covich and my teammates have pushed me to compete at a higher level, and I’m excited to keep growing as a player.”
Program on the Rise
WVU Golf has been steadily climbing the ranks of national recognition in recent years, and accolades like these confirm the program’s upward trajectory. The All-Region selections of Duncan and Wilson put West Virginia in elite company, with only a select number of universities placing multiple golfers on the list.
