### Dallas Mavericks Secure Jaden Hardy with Guaranteed $2 Million Salary
In addition to acquiring All-Star wing Klay Thompson in this year’s free agency, the Dallas Mavericks have been active in fortifying their roster for the upcoming season. One significant move has been the decision to guarantee Jaden Hardy’s $2 million salary, ensuring his presence for the campaign ahead.
Hardy, a standout from Coronado High School in Henderson, Nevada, emerged as a top talent with impressive accolades, including Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year and Las Vegas Review-Journal Boys Athlete of the Year during his junior season. Initially set to pursue college basketball, Hardy opted instead to join the NBA G League Ignite, a developmental pathway to the NBA.
During his tenure with the NBA G League Ignite in the 2021-22 season, Hardy showcased his skills with averages of 17.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. His performance led to his selection as the 37th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, who subsequently traded him to the Dallas Mavericks.
Hardy quickly made an impact, notably scoring 28 points in his debut during the 2022 NBA Summer League. In the 2022-23 NBA season, he continued to contribute, achieving a career-high 29 points in a game against the Utah Jazz.
Mavericks’ Commitment to Jaden Hardy for 2024-25 Season
While securing Thompson was a priority, the departure of Derrick Jones Jr. to the Los Angeles Clippers prompted the Mavericks’ front office to guarantee Hardy’s salary for the upcoming season, as confirmed by Michael Scotto on X.

In his two seasons with the Mavericks alongside stars like Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, Hardy has averaged 7.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He has shown proficiency with 42% shooting from the field, 38% from three-point range, and 80% from the free-throw line.
Hardy’s role as an athletic wing adds defensive versatility and consistent perimeter shooting to the Mavericks’ lineup. With his salary guaranteed for the next season, Doncic, Irving, and Thompson can focus on enhancing team chemistry and strategic gameplay as the Mavericks pursue success in the NBA.
