Following their significant 88-82 victory over the Phoenix Mercury, Kelsey Mitchell of the Indiana Fever offered candid reflections on playing alongside Caitlin Clark amidst the increased spotlight on their team.
Mitchell acknowledged the attention Clark has garnered since her collegiate days in Iowa, noting, “I think the same eyes [are] on her in Iowa, so I think she’s kind of like mastered how it’s supposed to go. Hats off to her for dealing with it. I think for us it’s obviously an adjustment. We’re new to Caitlin and Caitlin is new to us, so it’s an adjustment as far as those eyes, but me personally, I’m fine,” she expressed via Desert Wave Media on X.

The matchup between Clark and Diana Taurasi drew a massive crowd of 17,017 fans, marking one of the largest attendances in Mercury history. This surge in viewership isn’t new for the Fever, who have become the most watched team on television this season, setting records across networks like ESPN and NBA TV.
Despite the increased attention, Mitchell, a seasoned guard, has maintained strong performance levels throughout Indiana’s 8-12 campaign, averaging 16.3 points and 1.9 assists per game.
