Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston shared an engaging postgame interaction following the Indiana Fever’s 88-82 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday. Clark nearly achieved a triple-double, recording 15 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds. Boston shared her candid reaction to Clark’s near-historic performance.
“You had a triple-double, damn near. Triple-double watch. Insanity,” said Boston via Cait22fever on X.
Clark would have been the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double, falling just one rebound short. Despite missing out on this milestone, the Fever celebrated their first win over a team with a record above .500 this season.
Walking back to the locker room, Clark responded to Boston with a smile, saying, “Bruh, I needed a rebound.” The rookie out of Iowa was clearly thrilled with the victory but acknowledged just how close she came to making WNBA history.
Boston also delivered a strong performance, scoring 17 points and grabbing eight rebounds while tasked with defending 6’9″ center Brittney Griner.

Clark has been consistently finding Boston in the paint for easy buckets, contributing to Boston’s rising season averages. In the win over the Mercury, Boston posted 17 points and eight rebounds, bringing her season averages to 12.9 points and 8.3 rebounds through the Fever’s 8-12 record.
