Mike McCarthy gives injury update on Cowboys’ enforcer Zack Martin
McCarthy, 60, said Martin “will definitely have a chance to play this week vs. Miami [Dolphins],” according to Todd Archer of ESPN. The Cowboys’ enforcer left the loss to Buffalo with a quad injury.
Martin, 33, left the game late in the first quarter with Dallas already trailing 14-3 and spoke to the media in the locker room after the 10-31 defeat.
“I’m hoping this week, treat it and get it ready to go on Sunday,” Martin said. “I feel good about that.”
Cowboys need Zack Martin
Cowboys will look to bounce back against a high-powered offense in the Dolphins and Martin’s presence is vital.
His absence through more than three quarters against the Bills was one of the main reason why the Cowboys were unable to score until garbage time.
Martin is rated in the top 10 at his position for several blocking categories and Cowboys fans are fortunate he avoided a more serious injury.
