Spurs saw Cristian Romero sent off in a thrilling 4-1 loss to Chelsea on Monday (November 6), while his compatriot – and star player – Micky van den Ven had to leave the field due to a hamstring injury.
With both men facing the prospect of being dropped, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is now out of options at the heart of his defence.

Rodon’s earlier-than-expected return to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium would have come as a shock to Daniel Farke, but that won’t happen – at least for now.
However, assuming there is indeed an option called up in the deal, it will be interesting to see what happens in January if Spurs face a similar crisis at the back.
Farke can use every possible option until the end of the season if Leeds want to maintain this push for automatic promotion, so ideally no players leave come the January transfer window open.
Whether Rodon will stay at Elland Road beyond this season remains to be seen…
